I'm hoping I live to see a remake of "Forbidden Planet", a top all-time scifi.

Saw it as a kid several times. Walter Pigeon, Leslie Nielsen, Anne Francis. A fascinating concept with both an altruistic and a horror element.
I've read somewhere that a contemporary version is planned, but have no particulars.
Without Googling all over the place, has anybody read/heard anything about it? Who do I call to make it happen? I have "friends" in Detroit.
