No, not easy to watch, but in the year's top 3, easily.
An aging couple's lives are radically changed when the woman suffers a series of debilitating shocks.
Watching this film is a profound experience: how many films can touch you this deeply?
Few.
The actress was the lead in, "Hiroshima, Mon Amour," many years ago. Trintignant, of course, has appeared in many sensational films, among them, "The Conformist," "My Night at Maud's," and "Z."
Riva is 85, Trintignant is 82: amazingly, both are at the top of their form.
