"The Man from Beijing" - Dreck mit swedish Pfeffer

Stay away from what dead whale of a movie. If "The Girl with..." was bad, this is ten times worse.

The 3 1/2 hour film opens with some of the most beautiful shots... it pulls you in, and the first half an hour flies fast, setting up high expectation.

But it is all downhill from there, quickly becoming tedious and pointless, extremely repetitious, with the same shots over and over again, with no development, just more screen time. You keep thinking "OK, OK, I got it already!!!" but the director is relentless...

If you have an idle half hour - watch the opening scenes, then turn it off, walking away with at least some sense of mystery and expectation.
