If you're a fan of baseball then this is a must see movie. This movie is not so much about Jackie Robinson but more about his story as he entered into Major League Baseball as the first African American to play. It actually seemed more about the relationship between Robinson and Branch Rickey (President and GM of the Brooklyn Dodgers). The movie starts out sort of slow but after about 20 minutes or so you realize that you're seeing post-WWII America through the lens of a MLB microscope. The movie suddenly becomes gripping and extremely powerful (imo). Chadwick Boseman is very good as Robinson and I know it is early in the 2013 movie season but don't be surprised if you see Harrison Ford as a nominee for an Academy Award for her performance as Branch Rickey. He is really good in this film.
