Better than I thought it was going to be...

Posted by Mark Man on October 12, 2013 at 19:47:18:

Went with my sister last night, she new nothing of F1 racing...when it was raining in Japan for the final race scene...she was cringing in her seat...she kept saying there is nothing to those cars, did not realize how small, fast and light they were...that they sat on the gas tank...those drivers had balls of steel...RH did do a good job of putting you in the car...

I remember that race on the Wide World of Sports, I was 13 years old...my younger brother had the match box cars of Lotus Elf, the Johnny Walker Black, and the McLaren Marlboro...I believe Ferrari would not sell their image to Mattel...not sure on that one...

I did like the Enzo Ferrari scenes...pompous arrogant Dago...reminded of my DAD, also a pompous arrogant Dago...so I have no idea where I get it from??!!??

F1 is still my favorite racing, crazy technology, world wide appeal and stupid expensive to support a team, lots of cloak and dagger still...and not one continuous left turn...I DVR all the races...I still love the standing starts and the sound of those engines screaming at such high RPM's...

Film was well cast and acted for the most part...I have a nephew that is an extremely good looking young man...so when I tell my sister he looks like and Formula 1 driver...she finally got that reference and said yes he does....

thanks
Mark
