A generation of American college students related to those middle-class characters.
And the film was packed with actors that would go on to become big names.
I've always found it entertaining--- and why not?
A bunch of former college friends gather at the funeral of one of their own.
Would you have preferred a gathering of a bunch of farmers?
I found the navel-gazing to have been kept curt enough to be interesting.
