'Shadow Recruit': There is life after Ford and Affleck . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on January 17, 2014 at 17:48:46:

Nice popcorner. Lots of action and scenery and everyone does a good job. Chris Pine is coming along nicely and is capable of carrying a new series of Clancy-type entertainments. Costner did good and Branagh gave a pitch-perfect, steely performance as the Russian adversary. The plot revolves around the financial destruction of the U.S. by creating a terror event immediately followed by massive treasury bond sell offs. Plausible but not important. The action was important and there was plenty of it. This is a good movie to see when the ball n'chain isn't looking. Kind of vapid but fun.
