was not a good decision, because the writing was hackneyed.
When you see Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, and Sam Shepard, you expect better than adequate. Scott Cooper, director, seriously needs more work on his suspense chops. This could have been very much better, considering all the squandered talent.
