covering the presidential election and ensuing protests.
Jon Stewart is, obviously, a very talented comedian/political commentator--- but in directing this, he took a step too far. There is little flair or continuity to his telling of the story of the slow torture; and casting Jose Luis Bernal as the lead was a mistake: the guy just looks too laid back; plus, he stays his good looking, toned self throughout: hardly the look of a typical journalist. His emotional range also doesn't intensify as the situation darkens. His antagonists also display less than what one would expect on the menace side.
But, all that aside, the film is worth a viewing. In light of what had been happening in our prisons in Baghdad and other places, it certainly is topical.
