RE: Thanks for taking point. Is the story line worth while?

"is there enough story substance to merit the expense?"

I think that is what the movies critics are knocking this film about.

My take:
It feels like there is this very large world that this story exists within but we the viewers are taken into it without adequate introduction. So we, just like Jupiter Jones, experience it cold.

It feels like a comic book story. Or should I say; yet another comic book story turned into a movie. For those who take pot shots at the script and overall story-telling, I would insist that this is a comic book turned into a movie. The characters are not super human. But some are genetically engineered super-soldiers. The plot unfolds as would be done in a comic book. Perhaps the term graphic novel might be used, but I don't consider anything here to be worth estimating up to even that questionable stature.

At least it doesn't dwell into that good versus evil message as did the Star Wars films. Although there is plenty of evil, even those characters we eventually root for have been thoroughly corrupted by the society they come from. Not all is pretty within.
