I can't understand all the controversy about this movie. Overall:

1. Good movie.
2. Good acting.
3. Good viewpoint.

Would I recommend this movie? No.

It is a good movie. Yes.

I particularly liked the viewpoint and anyone who wants a dose of reality and finds wars interesting, ought not to miss seeing this movie on the big screen IMO.

Yes, character development is missing, but do we really know what motivates people many times?

I saw it as an 'anti-war' movie, but one can just as easily come away from it as 'glorifying' the sacrifice of our soldiers.
