When Borgia is just not enough

Much is written about the horrors of the Stalin's camps, also known as Gulag. Unfortunately, most of that is not known to people outside of Russia - how many Westerners have read the Yevgenia Ginzburg's book?
A 1991 Russian film Lost in Siberia, streaming on Netflix, gives the viewer a very good general idea. While it is not possible to present the whole picture in two hours of screen time, some of its scenes are incredibly piercing - especially those inside the camp's barracks.
Tragic was the life of its heroine, and tragic was the life of the beautiful actress - she died at the age of just 39 in a strange accident - she suffered serious burns.
Not a perfect film, but still, strongly recommended to anyone interested in the modern history of the world.
