HORRIBLE time in our history.

You'd say that many Germans would claim that it was only the SS.

Not sure that would be true, but I'd say that even many SS (at least from the Panzer Brigades) weren't even involved with the (yes, I'll not only SAY it, but ACKNOWLEDGE it) Holocaust.

My direct family was in the USA, and I have a stahlhelm that my uncle brought back from the war - properly stencilled "Fw. Holbaum /4."

Certainly won't say every German was innocent, but I'd also say that more than a few SS were simply soldiers.
