His own father. Was his father part of the conspiracy of just another innocent witness? I can't remember.

For another glimpse of the conspiracy and conspirators check with the first movie. In that film we get meet the higher ups and...what is it....? The conspirators are in some major preparation for something big. More discredited/killed witnesses. Alien space craft at the south pole. etc. Good performance by Martin Landau as the discredited/murdered witness.
