Jurassic Park and Westworld are from the same author. Michael Crighton. No coincidence. Both the Westworld and Jurassic park plot lines feature high tech theme parks gone wrong.

Other tidbits. Chrighton not only wrote Westworld but directed the original movie. So blame the cheesy first movie on him. But the idea of it, I always really liked. Same with Jurassic Park.
