'Jackie': Chik Filet Supreme

Can you feel me now? That's what Portman should probably said during every scene. This film takes history and jumbles the timeline to make the story of Jackie being presented while being interviewed post Dallas and WH. Portman presents her as a complex being worried about the family place in history and her future. Not quite a melodrama, this film does its best to tug at emotional strings.
I have a problem with Portman - she looks nothing like Jackie O. Plus, Portman may have emotional depth but it only conjures up the exact same facial ticks and expressions she gives every role. She's like a stuck needle at 33 rpm. The supporting cast was good but the feature of the film is supposed to be Jackie. I think there were better choices hanging around but noticed Aronofsky's name under producers. (One thing, Portman captured the overall "plasticity" of Jackie with room to spare.)
If you can keep peace in the house, send her to see this with her girlfriends.
