RE: Who else thought, Malick's The Thin Red Line was better film, than SPR?

Hi,
One thing that in Private Ryan that distracted me from the great realism of that film was when they finally found the real Ryan, Matt Damond. He gave this smile showing off almost a twinkling Hollywood smile. Everything was so authentic to me until that.
In the Thin Red Line Nick Nolte was way over acting and that was distracting to me. I saw him in a Walk in the Woods with Redford and thought he was Oscar worthy. He was just playing himself....Mark Korda
