Clearly the scales are tipping in favor of Blu-Ray when a major retailer makes such an announcement... and if you look at "hearsay" as a type of "buzz" or word-of-mouth trend, I don't think the possible impact of that can be denied, either.

I think we all know that neither format will succeed based on technical merit, and that pretty much leaves marketing and exposure as the deciding factors.

I want one format to completely swamp the other so I can get onboard the surviving ship. I don't have the disposable income (or the inclination) to buy two machines and two different incompatible software formats.
