I do know SONY made some mistakes with the PS3 predictions, but that is normal for predictions.

SONY have made changes, and PS3 is now number 1 seller in amazon.
Including the DVD remote was the key change.

Even with a low attachment of movies, PS3 numbers are so high, that they drive movie sales.
The pre orders for the movie 300 in Blu Ray placed in rank 6 on amazon.

SONY can afford the loss on PS3, they will make it up on games later, and on Blu Ray income.

And it is standard Japanese practice to sell a new product at a loss to gain market share quickly. They learned this from Edison and the light bulb.

In Europe SONY have sold 1 million PS3 since 23rd March at USD 820 !. So no price reductions here, sadly.

That is why HD DVD do not include PS3 sales in Europe sales ranks :-)
