RE: Toshiba Announces Third Generation HD DVD players

Posted by 4season on August 6, 2007 at 09:06:34:

I heard news of these 3rd-gen players a few days ago but have not been able to find illustrations of what they look like.

I feel like such a consumer for thinking this, but I'm tempted to unload my existing A20 in favor of an A35! I was looking at one of the earlier top-line players (XA1?) and I liked the deluxe look and feel of the thing, and felt something of the sort would've been worth the extra expense to me.

Meanwhile, the firmware updates continue fast 'n furious, and I think I'm going to start ignoring these unless I encounter an unplayable movie: Not much point in my taking the player down for 50 minutes at a time just to support online purchasing of mobile phone wallpaper and ringtones, is there.
