Are film to video transfer cameras getting better?

Most of the banter here is about consumer equipment. Are the BDs getting better?
Those transfer cameras must be pretty specialized in being used just for a single purpose;probably good line voltage regulation, good video dynamic range, rock solid mounting, etc.
