Outside of some bad pressings (Mexican plant?) there haven't been alot of problems with combos, except for the price. Many of the horror stories you hear have been spread by Blu-boys. I have over 15 or so combos, and only had a problem with CoM, and that was fixed with an update. They haven't had any problems in quite a while now. The prices are another story. :-(
I ordered the Star Trek set, its gotten good reviews, and its clear they put alot of time and effort into restoring them. I have second generation, but nothing of the original, so I gave in. :-)
