Blu-ray owners: Sky Captain...

and the World of Tomorrow on Blu-ray is a HUGE waste of money. Not that I don't like the movie, I do. The problem is it was made to look "old" and man, does it. I really thought all the digital effects would look great, but no. Seems like every edge is diffuse (and purposefully so). Even the actorâ€™s eyes donâ€™t sparkle.

I didn't really want a next generation machine, but after a Christmas party my wife and I stopped by our local A/V dealer (have been friends for decades), and one of the owners told her about the Blu-ray price drop. I gotta admit, Spidy III is pretty amazing, but the one referenced above is truly a waste of $25. Had the two latest Harry Potters in my hand and put 'em back. Think Iâ€™ll stick with Netflix for a while.

Oh well, a poor choice. Just wanted to let you know.
