It doesn't look like Universal will make a move until they've fully assessed the Warner impact.

They are also waiting for Toshiba's next move (if any) (e.g. $500M payout to stay HD DVD-exclusive or buy a Blu-ray exclusive studio); or at least waiting for Toshiba to sell as much product as possible before the bottom drops out.
I think they'll eventually come to the same conclusion Warner's did: Try to end the format war quickly.
