RE: Pre/Pro Converts DD/DTS to PCM stereo
Posted by racerguy on February 18, 2008 at 14:53:37:
Let me see if I understand this. You want to:
1. Output lossy, compressed multi-channel Dolby Digital bitstream to a digital processor.
2. Downmix multi-channel bitstream to 2-channel, and transcode from DD to LPCM in that processor.
3. Output LPCM to a third device for digital to analog conversion.
Do I have this right? If so, why do you want to do this? Do you think going through all these steps/processing/conversions/devices will improve anything? I sure don't.
If what you're ultimately trying to get is 2-ch analog, why not just take it directly off the 2-ch analog ports on the STB?
