RE: What do you think of Samsung LN46A650 LCD HDTV?

Posted by DavidLD on April 4, 2008 at 14:36:07:

The upconvert player is not Blu Ray.
Wal Mart sells a decent Philips upconvert DVD player for $44.
The Samsung might be a bit more expensive--whether its any better is a good question.
The least expensive Blu Ray player is $400, or nearly 10 x as much.
Samsung is not my favorite brand but the recent test of LCD's in Consumer Reports ranks then very high.
If thats the TV you want cut a deal on that and head to Wal-Mart for the Philips upconvert.

Be aware that if you buy at Circuit City and have a Discover Card you can get a 5% rebate if you purchase the TV thru the Discover Card Shopping
Web site and pick it up at a local store. Also be aware that Sears normally gives a 5% rebate on anything purchased on the Sears card, but so far as I know there are no free interest rate deals on either.
