Barrett's Home Theater accepted the return, along with the Rotel amp.

Unless they are obvious defectives, I hate to return things - especially if they are expensive and the employees operate on commission. I explained why I was returning and the gentleman who helped me graciously refunded the $3450 I laid out for the two pieces. Of course, this is one of the reasons why I chose to pay near retail prices in the first place, rather than buying on-line from some shady dealer in Jersey City.

Now I am back to square one. How do I get good, reliable hdmi switching without sacrificing sound quality vs. my old Denon AVR-5800 and Belles amp and without paying over $5k?

Oh, and without using a video game player as a source component...
