HDMI or component video cables for HD cable box to HD TV?

Posted by WoodyWW on April 29, 2008 at 09:49:00:

I just got an HD cable box with both HDMI & component video outputs. HD channels don't work with the co-ax cable supplied by the cable company /:( The cable guy said either component video or HDMI cable would work to get HDTV video from the cable box to the TV, but not an S-video cable.

Also: right now I have only a pre-HDMI DVD player. I'm running the sound out from the cable box into my 2 channel audio system. My TV is a Toshiba 32" LCD.

Should I just order a cheap HDMI cable off of Amazon, or??? Sorry for the lengthy dumb questions, but TIA.
