I didn't watch it (Lion, Witch, Wardrobe), but I doubt ABC broadcast an upconverted NTSC source. The film has been produced in 1080p for blu-ray and ABC probably used this source to broadcast it in 1080i or 720p.
True HD is an audio format, so I'm not sure why you keep mentioning that. HD as you know comes in many flavors: 1080p, 1080i and 720p. Most networks broadcast HD in 1080i. Now the actual source for these broadcasts varies.
