If you want all sorts of bells and whistles, get the Onkyo. If you want a receiver that sounds good on 5 channel music, get the Marantz. Since most HDTVs can do their own upconverting of sources, I can't see how the Onkyo 605 would be useful in this regard. BTW, do a google seasrch for Onkyo 605 + heat problems (to be fair, the heat issues are associated when the video processing kicks in).
