It's a beautiful dinosaur.

I have a friend with one. It weighs even more than my 34" CRT which to say way too much. If you watch mostly standard def and 4:3 full screen, it might be worth $200-$250. My friend now asks why I let her get the 40" Sony CRT way back when, and I just shrug and say I tried to talk them out of it at the time, which I did. They've given theirs away to a relative.
This set is one heavy sucker - nearly impossible to move and it's deep too. If you have any interest in HD and movies, I'd save your $$ and put something with the $500 to get a plasma or LCD. I'm considering dumping my 34" CRT when I move - it's a great set but it's 175lbs and I simply can't move it by myself. When I got it 7+ years ago it was a $2300 TV. There weren't any really good options for affordable flat screens, Samsung was just getting ready to introduce the DLP rear projectors. So I've enjoyed my HDTV for those years - but if I were buying today I'd never buy a CRT...and yes, I know all their virtues. But I'm a single gal and my 34" is a PITA.
Don't do it unless you have 2 weightlifting teenage sons.
