Used DVD 'repair' vs. 'damaged' used BluRay?
Posted by Elizabeth on June 2, 2008 at 16:29:55:
I have purchased hundreds of used DVDs (as well as new). The ability to "resurface" a scratched DVD is a very positive PLUS of the format.
I have purchased a few BluRay (5 disc Blade Runner, and Full metal Jacket) used discs and made certain the looked perfect. I wanted a set of Earth, from the BBC, but found all the ones for sale used, locally had defects.
Now this made me think about DVD vs BluRay in the used market. I would (almost) NEVER buy a used BluRay over the internet, because it's imperfections cannot be fixed. Where a damaged DVD usually can be fixed good as new.
Has anyone had any issues with used BluRay discs?
I just wonder what has been happening for other used buyers?
(I STILL do not OWN a BluRay player, but I chanced upon these at good prices and got them to have movies to play when I DO get a player...)
