BD Region Coding
Posted by Jack G on August 6, 2008 at 07:58:58:
What a bunch of crap.
I can (almost) understand region coding for new releases, due to different release dates across the globe, but there's really no excuse for it with older movies. There are older catalog titles being released in Europe but not here that are region B. I'm underwhelmed.
Anyone know of any hacks in the US?
There are a few places doing old Sony players, and one place doing a Panasonic for an extra $300. I'd love to find a hack for the sharp player.
For those of you who claim, "It doesn't effect me or anyone I know", it DOES effect me. There are so few titles announced that I'm actually interested in owning, and some of the ones I am interested in I cannot play. Its aggravating and unnecessary.
So much for being consumer friendly.
