blu-ray players that actually decode HD and new formats to analog outs

Posted by nyindallas on February 16, 2009 at 22:48:17:

i love my Sony BDP-550. It decodes the new blu-ray audio formats and passes the audio via analog outputs. I was looking for another blu-ray with analog out for an older TV that takes 1080i only. I noticed a panasonic model BD-30 for 229. The salesman told me that it did not have built-in decoding for high-resolution audio formats which made that player unsuitable since my receiver does not decode those formats. So other than the panasonic BD-55 and Sony BDP-550, do any other less $$$ decode and pass analog ? thnks, Howell Schisler
