My impression is the high dollar Pioneer was the one to get for both PQ and SQ.

I got a "cheap" Sony SDP-550 in the interim until the Pioneer can internally decode DTS HD MA (without some TBD future firmware upgrade) and I have the spare funds. I am making use of the player's analog outputs so good analog audio performance is paramount.

When I do get a "high dollar" player, it won't be used with the Kuro, it'll be used with the FP in the HT room. I'm using a first generation LG BH100 with the Kuro and the picture is great. I suspect any Blu-ray player with decent 1080p24 output would work very well with the Kuro.
