The Panny 55 and 35 are becoming hard to get in Canada...replacements due soon. I don't think he tested the 35, only the 55, as he is a little "higher end" and wanted to keep his reviews/comparisons fair.
Like for the Pannys, the current Sony models are due for replacement and likely some good deals to be had sooner than later.
These may be the last "Pioneer" BDP models, though perhaps they will tweak the models they will be rebranding.
Edit: I should emphasize, in his opinion, but not his alone apparently: the Panny 55 was lousy with the Kuro for upscaled DVD. So if she'll be doing that... But for BD only, no problem.
