Recording Material from a DVR

Posted by "Ron B" on May 16, 2009 at 20:58:29:

Looking for a way to download programs/movies saved on my DVR. There is a USB output on the unit as well as standard RCA outputs that could go to a VCR, etc. I would like to send this information to my computer and create a file that could then be recorded to DVD disc. My computer also has USB connections as well. Incidentally, my computer is an iMac G5. Is there a necessary software program that could be used for this? Or is the whole thing impossible to do?
