Analog outputs

Does anyone know why going through the processor the sound is more dynamic than using the analog outputs of the dvd Player. I set the levels and distances on the dvd player like the processor. The processor and amp are Classe the dvd players are Toshiba HDDVD and Pioneer BLUERAY. Using DVD with the high dolby and lossless DTS does not seem to affect the dynamics through the analog outputs.
