Hmm, the "local" (Buffalo) PBS (if that's what you mean) is pretty good for not doing that here. Their source quality isn't that good though, rarely true HD. The worst for mixing ARs is the national Canadian broadcaster the CBC, and they have the $$ and technical expertise to know better. They do a lot of strange things with their HD feeds, especially with sound mixes. HD pic is good quality but sometimes covers maybe 30% of the screen area.
