I received my Oppo last week as well. This player is much better than the Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD. The picture on bluray is much clearer than the Pioneer. The sound is also more lively, the pioneer is too warm in comparison. So the sound is less lively. On regular DVD's the picture is also better. This is also better than the Toshiba HDDVD that I used just for up sampling regular dvd's.
