I prefer plasmas also. I think the difference between the Pionners and the Panasonics is so small now, the difference in price makes it an easy choice. Once calibrated, the differences are tiny, if that. The set will certainly not be calibrated out of the box. You may be able to google the proper settings for your Panasonic, or just get a calibration disk. It will be much cheaper than hiring someone to do it for you. I was able to google the settings for my Panasonic. Better sites that review the sets set them up with a calibration disk before reviewing them, and should make the settings available in the review.
