Sony Wega 60" biting the dust. What's next, 60" or larger

Posted by Jon L on October 9, 2009 at 11:04:12:

So after 6 years of good service, my 60" Sony Wega RPLCD is biting the dust. It's intermittently losing video/audio signal every few minutes, to come back if I change channels or turn off/on my DVR, etc.

The thing is, I find most LCD flatpanels to look a bit cartoonish, but my room is not light-controlled enough for plasma, not to mention the $$$ I don't want to spend on 60+" plasma.

Kind of like the Samsung DLP HL61A750, but it went out of production in 2008, and the new LED LCD (locally dimmed) is over my budget for 60+". Any other rec's? I guess I could pick up something along the lines of Vizio at Costco, but I heard Vizio is coming out with LED LCD soon..
