But the manual, in most cases, is your friend. You'll need to see if certain outputs/inputs need to be activated or set up in a way that you actually get sound to/from the receiver and a video signal to the display. There's usually one sentence or excerpt that results in the proverbial head slap (a la the "I could've had a V8!" commercial). In the oppo's setup menu, check to see that you have selected HDMI as the output for both audio and video.
