RE: Sony KDS 55A2020 rear projection LCD

I believe I have the same unit as you describe. I'm not at home right now, but I'm about 99.9% confident that it's the same unit.
At any rate I can't answer any of your questions.
What I can say is that the unit I have produces an excellent picture with no hot spots or changes in shades across the screen. Overall I'm very pleased with its performance. I also have a Sony 52 inch flat screen lcd, model number escapes me at the moment. I would rate the picture on the rear screen projection unit as superior under low ambient room light conditions. In bright ambient light the rear projection picture starts to wash out whereas the 52 inch flat screen lcd does not.
But for my viewing conditions the rear projection Sony has been an absolutely wonderful TV. No complaints.
