Streaming is NOT as good as you might think - a direct compare

Posted by mbnx01 on September 29, 2011 at 10:48:57:

I have a high-speed internet connection and have been surprised by how good the picture is on Netflix streaming.

I've been streaming a cop show with Jeremy Renner called 'The Unusual's'. Pretty good show.

For some reason the last episode is dvd only, so I ordered the last disc from Netflix.

So, I've been watching nine of these shows streaming. Then I watch on disc last night. Results?

Sound is about 50% better. HUGE IMPROVEMENT.

Picture quality is A LOT BETTER. NOT SUBTLE. Sure, when you're watching that streaming show you're thinking, 'gee, this looks pretty good'. No, it really doesn't. Not compared to dvd.
