5 channel amp for Onkyo receiver
Posted by excelit on November 20, 2011 at 10:36:29:
Hi
I have the Onkyo TX-NR 709 A/V receiver which has pre-outs. What's a good 5 channel amp to mate with it?
It's a decent midpriced receiver, but I do hear it clip on sustained loud volume watching movies.
For video music, I find it uninvolving, it lacks transcient attack, macro and micro dynamics are unconvincing and clipping is more apparent.
I know that ideally there should be separate systems for audio and home theater, which I do, but I do want to enjoy the audio aspect of music videos in the home theater set up.
I would appreciate recommendations.
TIA
