Pondering Blu-ray... Oppo perhaps???

Posted by Dman on November 20, 2012 at 12:19:43:

I'm total new to the world of Blu-ray and such, having been out of Home Theater World for the last 6 years or so, and at that point content with plain old DVD (and DVD-A from the audiophile stand-point) played through a (then rather good) Sony rear-pro LCD.

Well, having just bit the bullet and purchased an 50" LG plasma and gotten HD cable, I am considering diving into BD, since a few movies like my Star Wars Trilogy (yeah, I went there...) are a little worse for wear (lent out Ep 4 and it came back unplayable after the first 40 minutes).

My thought so far has been the new (?) Oppo BDP-103. Does anyone know who sells it in CANADA (and a price north of the border)? the net hasn't been very forth-coming with info, other than specs so far...

TIA!
