Computers are different than stand-alone players in that there are some features that you may be able to customize for your specific needs. First, the lossless audio will need to be decoded to 2-channel PCM because that's what your DAC will be expecting. Also, the PCM stream should be output at a bit depth and sample rate that the DAC can process. Next, either the OS and/or the software that you are using to play back the Blu-ray material will have to allow for the option to use the USB path for audio.
Satisfy those requirements and there's no "sane" reason that a USB DAC can't be used for Blu-ray audio.
