Roku 3 has no digital out

Nice streaming player with a pretty good interface. It only has HDMI output which means I can't route surround through my HTR. I don't use the receiver's HDMI switching capability. Am I correct that my only option is HDMI out from the Roku and HDMI in and out of the receiver?
