pass-thru video 0 OPPO bdp-105d vs Denon AVR-X4100W

Posted by maikeru on June 4, 2015 at 21:08:48:

Strictly for other source materials - Apple TV, etc - how will it compare if:

1) Apple tv HDMI ---> Oppo HDMI in ---> Projector
2) Apple tv HDMI ---> Denon 4100w -->Projector

When I first started using the HDMI in on the Oppo I was very impressed. However, I rarely use blu-ray anymore and was wondering if using this Oppo strictly as a video scaler was over-kill.

So if I sell the Oppo and get the Denon, ignoring the Darbee function (which I don't use) will I see a big, or any, drop-off in video quality when watching non-blu ray sources?
